Alvita Care is Taking Action to Limit Transmission of COVID-19
To date, Alvita Care has had NO client and home caregiver transmission of COVID-19 due to our strict protocols and precautionary measures. Our Administrator (Theresa Taplin, LMSW) and Director of Nursing (Antonella Valentini, RN, BSN) have worked tirelessly to ensure the following:
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for all clients and caregivers
- Daily screening of caregivers prior to a home visit
- Education on prevention, transmission, and infection control
- Adjust caregiver schedules to limit exposure
- We follow strict guidelines of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Safety Protocols for Home Health Aides
Not only must home health aides maintain a safe environment while at a client’s home, they must also limit their exposure to COVID-19 while off work. Home care aides at Alvita Care are trained to follow strict protocols whenever appropriate, including:
- Wearing face masks and gloves
- Washing hands thoroughly and frequently
- Taking temperature checks for symptoms
- Sanitizing points of contact in the home
- Refraining from touching the face
